A year ago, Bioforce Aravete O\u00dc activated a purification unit at the Aravete biogas plant, extracting methane from biogas to make it usable in a similar manner to natural gas. Looking forward, Bioforce Group aims to meet a significant portion of Estonia’s gas demand through similar facilities. The biomethane produced in Aravete is transported in compressed gas containers to fuel AS Tallinna Linnatransport buses. <\/p>\n
Siim Tenno, board member of Bioforce Aravete O\u00dc, emphasized the importance of increasing locally produced, eco-friendly gas. “Beyond reducing our carbon footprint, it is critical that we lessen our dependency on fossil fuels. Biomethane, as a local and environmentally friendly fuel, is essential not only for reducing greenhouse gases but also for enhancing energy security,” said Tenno. <\/p>\n
Bioforce Group, focused on developing, constructing, and operating biomethane plants and compressed gas stations, is now launching a second biomethane plant in Ebavere. The team has set a target to produce at least 600 GWh of biomethane by 2028, a volume likely sufficient to meet the entire natural gas demand in Estonia’s transport sector.<\/p>\n
